About CAFS

Trusted Partners in Food Systems Transformation

CAFS holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council and serves on Nigeria’s National Task Team on Food Systems Transformation Pathways. We have supported national initiatives with partners including GAIN, NSPRI and HEDA, from developing food systems indicators to tracking climate adaptation finance.

Youth
Youth Engagement in Food Systems Transformation

As co-lead of youth engagement on Nigeria’s National Food Systems Task Team, we mapped young people working in food systems across all 36 states and the FCT, and we bring their ideas into national decisions.
Climate-smart farming
Pre-Season Climate and Agronomy Training

Ahead of planting season, we train smallholder farmers to use climate information services, climate-smart agriculture and good agronomic practices, so they can plan around changing rains instead of guessing.
Convening
Annual Food Security Future Summit

Each year, the summit brings policymakers, development partners and young innovators into one room to agree on practical next steps for Nigeria’s food security.
Nutrition
Junior Farmers Field and School Garden Project

In school gardens, pupils learn to grow, harvest and eat nutritious food, building healthy habits early and showing a new generation that farming has a future.
Policy
Policy Influencing and Advocacy

We work with government and development partners to push for youth inclusion, job creation and sustainable development, and we track public climate funds so they deliver value for money.
